When Missing Loved Ones Becomes a Lifestyle
I grew upwards missing people. My begetter was a company man — a corporate nomad — and so when it came time to motility once again, we packed upwardly and went where the career opportunities led him.
The only place he always declined to move was Utah. That's because no 1 in their right mind agrees to motion to Utah. (Hey, no offense.)
Growing upwards, I missed friends, neighbors, and classmates across 6 states. Relationships were temporary. Living hundreds of miles from relatives, nosotros visited them once or twice a yr. For 7 years, my dad worked 2nd shift so he could climb that corporate ladder; often I missed him, also.
When I attended college, naturally it was out-of-state. So, I landed a corporate chore much like his and continued the nomadic lifestyle of corporate relocations and missing people.
Once I became a parent, however, I sought to ensure that my own daughter didn't grow up missing people she loved. I wanted to give her the gift of existence "from" somewhere. I wanted to give her the gift of not continually feeling loss or separation from all that was familiar.
Nosotros now live a stone's throw from my parents and other family. Corporate nomads somewhen find their oasis, and it's rarely at the top of the organizational ladder.

"Tears in Heaven" and others are so poignant. The songs that touched my centre after losing loved ones may not even take been ones like this, just ones that nosotros used to sing together or had other meanings. Time does heal the initial pain of losing loved ones, hard as that is to believe when we first lose loved ones.
Equally to your daughter, having a home base and long-lasting friendships, she is fortunate. Some families have no choice in the matter. I am thinking of military families, those who serve as diplomats, etc.
Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us.

I met my soulmate while living in Europe equally a teenager. We'd spend ours days dreaming about a future together. But, her family abruptly left the country and disappeared. The day I watched her board the plane crying is among the worst days of my life.
We knew we'd probably never see each other over again and promised to ever remember, and detect each other in the next life.
In the years since, I've searched, merely never found whatsoever trace of her.
And, while my life went on, I've never forgotten her.
The song that always makes me finish and remember about her and what could have been is "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen. Like in the song, we just weren't fated to be together. Just, we had our 1 sweetness moment - our forever.

Alright Flourish, these are all great "Missing Y'all Songs" but once one puts God and Christ 1st in one'south life, they will not have time or space to miss anyone from a romantic human relationship ever again. All her life, I am sure that she missed the man he used to exist and the life she used to have. But y'all didn't hear her griping. People could borrow a good role model. Thanks for reading. Some nice writing and some good tunes.
The juxtaposition of songs virtually real, raw actual emotion to some of the made up nonsense concerning "micro-aggressions" on higher campuses today is startling. We used to use things like music to cope with anxiety and depression. Then nosotros moved to drugging most a whole gild and now we are showtime to see a generation that act as if they are so delicate you lot can't even ask where they were born for fearfulness of hurting their feelings.
