'Treason!' Brexit Party MEP savages laughing stock MPs - removing 21 rebels just the start
BREXIT Party MEP Dr David Bull has accused Tory rebels and others seeking to prevent a no deal Brexit of "treason" and claimed they are "in contempt" of the electorate - while colleague Jonathan Bullock has said officials in Brussels are "laughing" at events in Westminster.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson's strategy of piling pressure on the EU as the October 31 deadline draws closer has been seriously undermined in recent days, with a damaging Commons defeat on Tuesday as MPs seek to take control of the Brexit process. Mr Johnson is planning to propose a motion calling for a general election on - but Labour have vowed not to support it unless and until the anti-no deal legislation currently passing through Parliament becomes enshrined in law.
Since this would not happen until after October 19, a nationwide poll on October 15 - the day Mr Johnson is proposing - appears impossible.
Dr Bull, one of 29 Brexit Party candidates elected to the European Parliament in May told Express.co.uk: "17.4million people gave MPs a clear mandate to get us out of the EU.
"I've been quite quiet here in Brussels and I've actually been quite impressed by Boris.

Removing those 21 Tory MPs is just the start of it. It's treason, disgraceful behaviour
"If it's a true negotiation you need to keep no deal on the table - but it seems many MPs are in contempt of the electorate, going against the wishes of the people.
"Removing those 21 Tory MPs is just the start of it. It's treason, disgraceful behaviour.
"Boris is now in a very difficult position, with his hands tied behind his back.

Looking ahead, Dr Bull suggested in the event of an election, much depended on the attitude of the Conservative Party, and Mr Johnson in particular.
He explained: "We desperately need a general election now and from our position we are keen to have one.
If Boris come to us and said he would enter into a non-aggression pact we would stand candidates down in Conservative-held seats and concentrate on Labour heartlands, and Labour would be decimated.

"Boris could be a national hero.

Mr Bullock was similarly aghast, saying: "We are absolutely appalled by the antics in the UK Parliament- both from Labour and Tory rebels all of whom committed to leaving the EU in their parties 2017 election manifestos.
"We are concerned that an election before we have left would mean that the Tories (if they won) could agree on a watered-down version of the withdrawal agreement without any opposition.
"That is why it is vital to have Brexit Party MEPs elected who are absolutely trusted to deliver a clean Brexit.
